Who We Are
ZenLena Partum Care was founded by Alora Kissee. Alora made the decision to become a Community Doula after the impact of having a doula through her own personal birthing journey.
Our name comes from the combination of Zenobra and Ethelena. Zenobra was our founder's great grandmother, whom she never met. She was the mother of Ethelena, Alora's maternal grandmother. There was an intentional choice in using the term partum when choosing our company name. The first reason is a lot times people only use or hear the word when conversations are about postpartum depression. That, in itself, is a failure to remember that words have meanings. The ultimate goal is to removing the use of "she has postpartum", well, all mommas do. She is experiencing depression in her postpartum trimester. This is our hope in reclaiming the word and its definition. The second reason for intentionally choosing the word partum is that our company focuses on more than just being a doula. We are passionate about being able to provide services such as: meal planning and/or preparation services, mental health services, cleaning services, postpartum nanny and others that can make world of difference in all 4 trimesters.
Our Mission
Our mission is to empower and support women through every stage of their reproductive journey—whether they are expecting, adjusting to life after birth, coping with loss, or making the decision to terminate a pregnancy. We are committed to providing compassionate, community-based doula services grounded in accountability, balance, and continuous learning. We value diversity, honesty, humility, teamwork, transparency, and trust, fostering lasting relationships with our clients and ensuring they feel supported every step of the way. Our goal is to create a nurturing environment where women feel heard, respected, and equipped to make informed decisions, leading to repeat customers who share in our success and community.
Our Vision
Our vision is to create a world where every woman, regardless of her journey, has access to compassionate, inclusive, and empowering doula support.
